OLD GLORY HEADER - SSAMEMORIAL

April is Fiesta time for old San Antone area communities and March ended with a bang at the Lazy U Ranch.  The month of March included over 300 soldiers and families, Guadalupe County Young Marines campout, memorial tours for vets and civilians from as far away as Nebraska and Illinois. It also included move in on-premises of Wounded Warrior family Sergeant 1st Class Rodger and Carol Benton USA (Ret.)

We also ended March with the advent of our second monthly “FREEDOM FRIDAY” event that brought out the area talent on both occasions including Wounded Warriors in action singing and jamming out.
Come join us for April’s Fiesta Freedom Friday!

90 days and counting as we close in on the 4th of July.  Going into our 16th year this year’s event will be on the 3rd and 4th with the ranch gate open on July 1st for RV campers -note: all rv/campers must use “whisper quiet generators” – Lazy U Ranch does not provided electrical or sewage hookup.  With the advent of the SS American Memorial (Non-Profit status) there has been many changes on-premises.  The main change to this year’s event is that while the event is still FREE, all beveragesincluding beer and wine will be sold on premises.  No ice chests will be allowed!

Volunteers will be needed for tickets sales, beverage sales, set up/clean up, and cooking.  For volunteer sign up send an email to riohondo@lazyuranch.com.

Our average attendance to the 4th of July Memorial service has averaged between 400-500 persons.  Due to the large interest, this year’s event will require online registration only with limited seating.

All attendees are required to bring a POT-LUCK dish (one dish per family) – no store-bought food is allowed guests are required to prepare a home cooked dish -preferably Granny’s favorite recipe!!
