He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
~Micah 6:8~

I have been in ministry for many years and heard many people say that they just cannot live up to what God wants from them.  I want to tell – to promise you – that it is easier than you think.

Do Justice – Treat people fairly and do not mess anyone over.
Love Mercy – Be kind to others.  Forgive as you would like to be forgiven.
Walk Humbly with God – No matter how capable any of us are we are not self-sufficient.  God has power.  God has answers.  God can accomplish for you what you cannot accomplish on your own.  God wants you to walk with Him and to receive the blessings he can provide through His strength.  Walk with Him.

WHAT IS FREEDOM FRIDAY?

Freedom Friday is held on the second Friday of each month.  This event is about bringing Americans together in a unique setting and location that offers wounded warrior’s a place to comfortably TRANSITION back into the civilian setting.  It also offers civilians a chance to build relationships with our military community and give thanks for their services.  It allows children to have good, healthy fun chasing fireflies, frogs and playing with each other without the use of electronics.  The location provides patrons the opportunity to visit the nation’s only private “living” war memorial building that continuously provides a visual of the sacrifices of our warriors.

The event goes into it’s second year providing some of the finest live music, great food, and cold refreshments  All proceeds benefit the military service members.

STAY TUNED FOR UPCOMING OUTDOOR MOVIE NIGHT SCHEDULING……

OLD SCHOOL TIMES-REMEMBER WHEN!

Bring your family and friends to one of America’s most unique locations.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT….

Local businesses Ingram Ready Mix, HomeDepot, Bertling Rentals, and Colorado Materials step up to the plate and provide support to the Wounded Warriors, as they ready the grounds and facilities for “therapy retreat” use for the upcoming year.  The Navy, Army, and Marine veterans came together this month building new concrete areas for BBQ House, sidewalks, and horseshoe pits.  Even the local Guadalupe County is redoing the county road up to the gate – great things are happening!

The SS American Memorial Foundation calendar is filling up with retreat events for 2017 starting in March.  Retreat events are FREE to all active duty military, veteran, first responder, civic, and religious organizations.  CALL 210-559-1377 TO BOOK YOUR NEXT EVENT.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THESE ORGANIZATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS THAT CONTINUE TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN OUT HERE AT THE  SS American Memorial grounds.

The SS American Memorial Foundation is a 501c3 (not-for-profit)  and relies on donations.  100% of all donations go to benefit the the overall mission statement.

NEW CAPTAIN AT THE HELM…

The Lazy U Ranch welcomes Rodger and Carol Benton US Army Special Forces (Ret.)  The Russell family departed the ranch February 11th, 2017 after 7 years of permanent residency to pave way for the continuance of the overall mission of the SS American Memorial Foundation.  Rodger and Carol have been living on premises for the past year and will act as the permanent resident management team.  Rodger’s history includes being one of two original “ribbon cutting” Wounded Warrior’s at the SS American Memorial building dedication ceremonies on July 3rd, 2014.

Rodger’s military career spanned over 20 years including 8 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, finishing out his career as Platoon Sargent with Warrior Transition Battalion – (BAMC) Brooks Army Medical Center San Antonio TX.  It has been a true pleasure having Rodger and Carol enter our lives over that last 4 years.  There passion for helping other veterans and their unwavering commitment to the mission of our foundation is inspiring – it has been a HONOR to have them in our lives and provides our family complete peace of mind knowing that they are watching over the property.
