America’s genesis of a LIVING war memorial.

Housed in a repurposed stone outbuilding created as an energy-efficient prototype (possibly the first of its kind to use 100% limestone road base walls) hand-built by Texas A & I University alum James Jenning Ulbrich (WWII, USN) from 1984-1995. Completed and dedicated July 3rd, 2014 by donated funds and labor by veterans and civilians.

Only a crew of old-time salty submariners would know how to turn an aggregate of mere brick into a “living” memorial of significant distinction and construction.

A Visual History

The intent of the inside of the memorial building is to stimulate a sense of American history through a dramatic visual of specific large mural paintings that changed the course of our country and world history.

The SS American Memorial building is the only PRIVATE “living” War Memorial in the U.S. A living memorial that is used on a daily basis as a place to interact with each other in an environment that promotes GOD, FAMILY, and COUNTRY. The grand 6’x7′ canvas and oil were painted specifically for the memorial providing a distinct visual of American history representing our Judeo-Christian heritage, Battle of 1812, World War II, Cold War, and the Battle of the Alamo.
