SS AMERICAN MEMORIAL CONTINUES TO ADVANCE!!!

RECOGNITION CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

On November 12th, 2015 the SS American Memorial was recognized by the Command Staff of the 264th Medical Battalion Master Religious Plan retreat.  Commanding officer Lt. Col. Warren Barden and Command Sargent Major Darlene Taylor along with senior NCO’s visited the Lazy U Ranch for the first time.  On behalf of all persons involved that has to take up the torch to support this endeavor our family gratefully accepted this “Certificate”.

On November 10, 2015 SS American Memorial was recognized at the New Braunfels Wurstfest ( rated as one of nation’s top German Festivals) Veterans appreciation night amongst a crowd of over 2000 patriots.

At the Wurstfest the SS American Memorial hosted a contingent of Wounded Warriors including guest of honor Navy Chief Machinist’s Mate (Submariner) Mr. & Mrs. John Buchannon.  At 95 years of age Mr. Buchannon was the oldest WWII veteran at the event and the ONLY Pearl Harbor survivor. He was joined by his wife of 74 years!!  Hat’s off to the New Braunfels Wurstfest for the extreme generosity in honoring the Wounded Warriors and all veterans.
